Craig Black graduated from the University of the West of Scotland in 2013, and is currently based in Gourock, Inverclyde.

In his final year of school, Craig was offered a professional contract by Greenock Morton. He spent four years as a footballer before leaving the game to study art and design. After graduating he moved to London, where he worked for design agencies as a typography specialist while building his own studio in Greenock.

Ahead of the 2021 European Championships he created 'Acrylic Fusion', a hand-poured paint technique first shown on a series of footballs in the colours of the competing nations. The acclaim the work received sparked a career that includes commissions from Disney, FIFA, UEFA, Porsche, Jaguar, Sky, the NBA and the NFL. His diverse work includes canvases, sculpture, large-scale murals and live art performance, with solo exhibitions at the FIFA World Cup in Doha, the Premier League in London and VANDAL Gallery in Sydney, and live performances at COP26 in Glasgow and the 2023 UEFA Champions League Final in Istanbul.

Craig has delivered talks on his work before audiences at OFFF Festival in Barcelona, Beyond Tellerrand in Berlin and Pentawards in Paris. His work has been featured by BBC News and Channel 5.
